Film: Young People Fucking
Yesterday night I’ve watch this movie called “Young People Fucking” cuddled up with Mike on the sofa and having chicken soup. It’s the story of best friends, an old couple, the exes, the first date and roommates and they, well you’ve guessed it, all have a good fuck. But not like in a porno. This movie is NOT a porno -there’s some boobs but no pussy, which works well anyway for the film. It’s more like an essaie on showing that emotions can hardily be separated from sex. With that in mind, I promise there’s some action.
The actors are awesome (not to mention HOT especially the brunette friend). The script is good. The stories of each couple is interesting, provocative, funny and even a little weird.
The film could have been a bigger success but I think there’s 2 reasons why it hasn’t been heard of:
- The title sucks
- It’s canadian
I think there were some long moments but Mike argues there were none. Either way, it’s a very interesting movie and you should watch it and then discuss it here with me: I’d love to know what you thought about it.

I saw this movie 6 or 8 months ago. The collection of shorts were well shot (for the budget) and the story lines while all had a common subject were different enough in their design that all were worth watching. A couple of them I could even relate to.
Yeah, the title needed work.
It’s really a little gem for me all the actor was good and yep the title it not good, to porn and cheap
I’ve read up on the film. It got such good reviews…everything but the title.
We, as a people, just aren’t ready for the word “fuck”…unless your looking for porn.
Too bad they went with that name. They were probably just trying to be edgy. Instead they shot themselves in the foot.
BTW: I love the word fuck. It works in SO many situations.

Scott ~ Yes, the film is very nice and the title sucks. It made only a small 500 000$. I like the word fuck but since I’m french and using this language in my everyday life, I don’t use it as much as I would. I’m sure you’d love our swear words: we have so many! (I’m not talking about french of France but french Québécois swear words! Lovely.)

As someone that has experienced many of the situations these characters have I was able to relate to many of the short stories. So here are a few comments:
A better title would have been something like: “pillow talk” “you, me and the bed make three” “Less Conversation; More Action”?
Now we can talk about the important stuff.
The Couple
Most people in lasting relationships get to this bored state, both in and out of the bedroom. It is what happens after that that makes all the difference in continuing a relationship.
The Ex’s
The scene with their mutual jealousy is done really well. They aren’t over each other. They can’t get back together. It is very true to life that the couple doesn’t get back together at the end.
The Friends
I was always told, “if you enjoy having sex with your best friend that is the person you marry”. It is no surprise they fall in love by the end. I had a friend who talked about fucking for these same reasons. I wasn’t aggressive enough. Or she wasn’t serious about it. Sex never happened and I had to end the friendship. (By the way, I think the actress in this one is the hottest woman in the flick.)
The Threesome/Roommates
I have been a “bull” for a few couples. It has always been fun but there is a moment were the guy tells me the rules. Some of the rules I have heard before were: “no kissing on the mouth” or “no oral” or “no anal” or “be at an angle were I can see the in and out” or “don’t mind me while I rub your legs and ass”. There is an element of homoerotism to the any threesome/group play. There is also a moment in most threesomes/group sex (at least for males) were you climax, get bored and go to the kitchen to get something to eat.
I loved the couple admitting to each other they were “perverts”.
For a movie about sex and how “easy” it should be there is a great deal of talking, which is a major theme of the film. It takes a great deal of conversation to make sure everyone is on the same page. This lack honest conversation makes the First Date possibly the most important and saddest in the short stories.
If the characters had simply been truthful and straight forward about their desires; they could have wasted very little time getting to what they actually wanted: a purely physical sexual activity. However, they used the pretense of a date, booze, and a collection of lies to get to the sexual act, which turned out to be an unfulfilling experience.
